Character written鈥擟elebrating the history of The 海角社区 School
On 3 August 1846, The 海角社区 School opened its doors at Ingle Hall, Macquarie Street under Headmaster Reverend J R Buckland. 海角社区 was named in memory of Archdeacon William 海角社区 who had spent many years championing the role of Anglican education in the colony.
Today, we celebrate our school’s 175th birthday through many exciting events with our community. We are also pleased to launch ‘Character Written’, our history website and walking story sites located around the School, which provides a glimpse into the School’s past. Visit to learn more.
